How do I figure out my cuff bracelet size?

Measure around your wrist at the wrist bone. Choose a place on your wrist where you would normally wear a bracelet. Take a measurement using a measuring tape, a ribbon, or even a strip of paper.

To use a ribbon or strip of paper, mark where the end of the bracelet needs to be and then measure the length with a ruler to determine your wrist size. Increase the wrist measurement by the following increments to determine the best cuff bracelet size for how you like your cuff bracelet to fit:

  • Add 1/4 to 1/2 inch for a closer fit on the wrist

  • Add 3/4 to 1 inch for a looser fit, hitting where the heel of your hand meets your wrist

So, cuff bracelets are easy, but how do I know what size bangle is right for me?

Bangle size is determined by the size of your hand and not your wrist. To determine your bangle size, simply tuck your thumb into the palm of your hand (as if about to slip on a bangle) and using a measuring tape, measure your hand around the thickest point. (See picture.) This measurement is your bangle size.

What about ring sizes?

If you don’t know your ring size, there are many available charts online or you can have your finger measured at any jeweler. This ring sizer on Amazon is also helpful. Its important to consider your knuckles when selecting a ring size, not just your finger. If you have larger knuckles, consider sizing up 1/2 size. For bands that are 1/4” or wider, size up 1/2 to one full size. Many of my rings cannot be sized, so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and I’ll do my best to guide you.

Many of your pieces are “oxidized”. What is that exactly and does it last forever?

Oxidized sterling silver is genuine sterling silver that has been treated with a chemical process to intentionally darken the surface. I typically do this to enhance the texture I create on a piece. This patina generally lasts for the lifetime of the piece with earrings and pendants but may lighten over time. For rings and bracelets that take more wear and tear, the oxidation will lighten more quickly for sure. I am happy to re-oxidize a piece for you, just contact me. Oxidation not your thing? I can make any piece without this patina if you prefer, just let me know.
